  • The business had ventured into General Haulage and in August 1942 the company was incorporated and listed as J.H Hadfield & Sons Ltd. Coal and Removals remained prominent but now the business was attracting General haulage throughout the UK. 

    The base was in Old St, Ashton-Under-Lyne and is shown in the image at the top of this page.
